The hotel is located in peaceful, rural surroundings. The setting is one of peace and tranquility, with no loud noise from traffic. During the summer, you can watch the sun set here and enjoy the bright starry evenings. The Holmenkollen winter sports arena is a mere stone’s throw from the hotel. Art and culture are important elements of our history, and are reflected in our many pictures and decorations. Parts of the hotel date back to 1894, when Dr. I. C. Holm, the renowned Norwegian surgeon, built a sanatorium for his tuberculosis patients. This building was preserved, and is now part of the hotel. The hotel also features a gourmet restaurant, meeting and reception rooms, as well as a new 1,000 m2 multi-purpose hall in the centre of the hotel. Accommodation The Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica has 220 rooms, including 11 suites and an exclusive wing containing 35 rooms, which can be separated from the rest of the hotel when the need arises. All rooms have been recently refurbished and are of high standard. Each room is equipped with digital TV and Internet access and other service information. There is a mini bar, trouser press and hair dryer in all rooms. Most rooms have their own safe; the rest use the safe at the front desk. Many of the rooms have been designed with just the right “Holmenkollen” look, and their unique view of the city, the fjord and landscape around Oslo is truly balm for the soul. Nearly half of all rooms are non-smoking, and there are also 2 single rooms for disabled guests. Included in the price is a large, Norwegian breakfast buffet, as well as service fees and taxes. The hotel has a separate business room for its guests, with access to the Internet, e-mail, telephone, fax and printer. The front desk provides a wireless Internet zone, where hotel guests can connect to their Internet provider by means of a network card/adapter. These cards/adapters may be rented from the hotel. Hotel Facilities Conference Room : For meetings big and small, for working groups or plenary discussions, there are over 30 rooms to suit all needs. Each room is spacious and well equipped, with a capacity ranging from 2 to 500 persons. Functions : Our function rooms are in the Old Buildling, built in characteristic Dragon style, which can accommodate up to 300 guests spread over a number of different rooms. We have different menus depending on the occasion, whether it’s a big party or an informal dinner party. Banquet : The hotel’s main hall, Saga Hall, can accommodate 400 guests. From your seat you can gaze down at the glittering lights of Oslo. The spacious grounds also provide the ideal setting for a garden party, with barbecues in the summer. “Galleriet” is suitable for parties of up to 250 guests. The stage is adaptable, and a dance floor can be arranged. There is direct access to the bar, which makes for flexible solutions. The Convention Hall is suitable for receptions, lunches and dinners – theme events in particular – for up to 1000 guests. Fitness & Spa : Hotel guests can relax in our new fitness centre and recharge their batteries in peaceful surroundings. There are 20 pieces of training equipment, a training guide, and a small obstacle wall at your disposal. There is also a swimming pool, solarium, saunas and hairdresser’s – not to mention a beauty parlour, which features a variety of facial and body treatments, massages, mineral baths and nail design. Individual memberships are available. By registering, you can also participate in water aerobics and stretching lessons. Hotel Location Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica Oslo rises 350 meters above Oslo, and is situated just a stone's throw from the Holmenkollen Ski Complex (Holmenkollbakken). By Car : E18 South - West (from Drammen / Sandvika) Follow signs for Ring 3 - and Smestad. When arriving at Smestad, follow signs for Holmenkollen. E18 / E6 South - East (from Goteborg / Stockholm) Follow signs for Drammen, through the centre of Oslo. Then follow signs for Ring 3- and Smestad. When arriving at Smestad follow same directions as above. E6 North (Oslo Airport, Gardermoen) After pay toll, keep right for Ring 3 - Sinsen and Smestad. When arriving at Smestad, follow same directions as above. By Public Transport : From the Airport: When arriving at Oslo Airport Gardermoen, there is an air train that leaves approx. every 10 minutes and goes directly to Oslo Central Station. Journey time approx. 20 minutes. From the station, the hotel's shuttle bus which is free of charge to guest of the hotel (see "By Shuttle service" for timetable), tram (line 1 "Frognerseteren", exit "Holmenkollen") or taxi. From Oslo Central Station and city centre By tram: Line 1, "Frognerseteren". The tram leaves from Oslo Central Station, Stortinget, the National Theatre and Majorstuen. The hotel's stop is "Holmenkollen" (journey time approx. 20 mins). Follow the road uphill towards the Holmenkollen Ski Complex (10 minutes walk).
